After a few months on Phi Phi island we thought it was about time to go on the epic and compulsory trip around Phi Phi Leh – the smaller sister island. We hired a private longtailboat for the about four-five hours and it’s about 300-400 baht pp (we were 5p). Most people want to see Maya Bay, the famous beach from the movie “The Beach”. Therefore the beach is awfully crowded, and not at all as much of a paradise as it’s supposed to be… But it’s worth seeing, maybe not stoping (if I remember right you have to pay 200baht pp to jump off at the beach). There’s special tours that make sunrise, sunset or even camping in Maya Bay and this is the only way to see the place as the beautiful place it actually is. Anyway, we went here daytime and you could barely catch a climes of the beach among all the tourists, mostly chinese people (I’m sorry, no offence- but they come in herds and are often very rude). With that said our guide/boat driver stopped at a tiny beach just beside “The Beach” inside Maya Bay.
We also stopped at some other places around the island. We went swimming in one of the bays, stopped to have a look at Viking Cave, and went snorkelling as well.
I only have one thing to say about this day – amazing!! It was so beautiful everywhere and we had so much fun. A perfect day in paradise I’d say!
