We finally decided to go to Phuket before going home, mostly because Fanny and Mattias had never been there before. It was tough leaving Phi Phi, especially because we spend so much time there. It really feels like home to us and I wasn’t very happy leaving. But we got to see some new things and had another experience of paradise, based in Karon – the closest beach to famous Patong beach. We decided it was best to rent motorbikes, that way we could go wherever whenever and explore the surroundings even more. Jenny and I have been in Phuket many times already and know places fairly good, so driving and finding our way wasn’t too hard. I have to say that renting motorbikes in Thailand can be very dangerous and it’s important to be very careful. I got used to driving on the other side of the road in Australia, and I could even say that I’m a good driver. But you can’t really control other drivers though, and sometimes it end badly.
We packed our bags and headed to the ferry taking us from Phi Phi to Phuket. Sweaty as hell and really tired after last nights party. In Sweden we would call us oniony…haha. Almost like the english cheesy I guess!
I think we all fell asleep on the ferry, at least Jenny and I haha! The hotel we found was really nice and pretty cheap. Best thing about it was probably the pool! We were used to walk to the beach everyday and here we had this awesome pool just outside our room. We spent the days on the beach and at the pool, soaking sun and relaxing. Jenny and Fanny had to spend all their money shopping every other night. The shopping in Patong and Karon is really good, and if you bargain enough you can get stuff really cheap.
We also had some really nice food, and of course – ice-cream at Swenssens! The best ice-cream ever, hands up.
